Phil Collins 'wants serial killer role'

Phil Collins has revealed that he would love to play a serial killer in a Hollywood film.

The former Genesis frontman, who has made cameo appearances in Hook and Buster, said that he was offered his dream role in an HBO thriller but his ex-wife Orianne Cevey would not allow him to take the part.

"I got sent a script from HBO. There was a Russian serial killer who killed and cannibalised 50-odd kids," he told Q.

"As soon as I got the script, I thought, 'I've got to play this guy!' But my wife wouldn't let me do it. She was probably right. I had the face that would get me the part. Rather than the romantic lead."

Collins previously threatened to quit music because of comments made by critics.
