Madonna defends interest in Kabbalah

Madonna has described how disappointed she is with the media reaction to her interest in mystical Jewish teaching Kabbalah.

Speaking to the New York Daily News, the 'Frozen' singer compared her plight to that of celebrity Scientologist Tom Cruise. "If it makes Tom Cruise happy, I don't care if he prays to turtles...I don't think anybody else should."

She added that she felt misunderstood, claiming that "it would be less controversial if I joined the Nazi Party."

Meanwhile, the newspaper reports that Madonna has decided to ditch her acting career but is keen to follow in the footsteps of husband Guy Ritchie and becoome a director.
