Published Tuesday, Nov 1 2005, 17:40 GMT | By Dave West
Along with the usual host of flesh-and-bones celebs, this years MTV Europe Music Awards will feature a unique spectacle.
Gorillaz, the pop band created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett but who only ever appear as graphics, will play on stage in the form of 3D holograms.
Hip-hop collaborators De La Soul will play alongside them.
Hi-tech projection techniques never before been used on live TV will be used to put on the show.
The awards ceremony, to be held this Thursday (November 3), will be presented by Borat Sagdiyev, the latest guise of Ali G creator Sacha Baron Cohen.
