Melissa Rycroft: 'Clooney meeting surreal'

Melissa Rycroft has described meeting George Clooney on the red carpet as "surreal".

The former Bachelor star recounted the experience on Jimmy Kimmel Live after she was asked what had been the strangest thing that had happened to her since she found fame on the romance reality show.

"The most exciting is definitely when I was working for Good Morning America and got to go to the Golden Globes and Oscars," she said.

"I don't belong there! I don't even pretend to be in that world or associate with those people and I'm interviewing these people and up comes George Clooney, and I'm calling my mum at the same time."

She continued: "He's the one guy on my mum's 'list' and I knew she would die that I actually got to meet him and talk to him! So definitely the most surreal moment!"

Kimmel then asked if her mum had actually died, prompting Rycroft to joke: "Yes. With my dad sitting right there. Sorry about that dad!"

Rycroft can be seen co-hosting Bachelor Pad, which premieres this Monday at 8pm on ABC.
