Actress Catherine Zeta Jones has won an award for her talent at the Women of the Year awards ceremony in New York. The ceremony took place in the Lincoln Centre's Avery Fisher Hall, with other famous names such as Goldie Hawn and Venus Williams picking up gongs for 'lifetime achievement' and 'comeback'.
The biggest applause of the night, hellomagazine.com reports, was reserved for Mukhtar Mai, who campaigns for women's rights after she was subjected to a brutal rape in her home country. She won the 'bravest woman in the world' award.
As well as Mai, supermodel Petra Nemcova was honoured for her bravery after being trapped in the tsunami last Christmas. She spent hours clinging to a palm tree, having suffered serious injuries in the initial surge of water.
