The former Ugly Betty star told Bang Showbiz that she is in no rush to slim down and refuses to change her eating habits after giving birth to son Francis in October.
"I put no pressure on myself at all and I was breastfeeding so sometimes I would say, 'I need a chocolate eclair - I'm going down the road for a cake'," she confessed.
"I thought I'd developed a really crazy sweet tooth but I think it was my body saying it needed extra calories. I treated breastfeeding like my job. I watched what I ate - apart from the eclairs and half a Guinness because my doctor said I could."
However, Jensen did accept that living in image-obsessed Los Angeles means that she will eventually have to make a conscious effort to tone up.
"I know I need to whip myself into shape or everyone will say, 'Look at Ashley's body'," she said.
"I had people taking photos of me six weeks after I gave birth. I got out for the first time and somebody said I looked like Margaret Thatcher. But that's just part and parcel of the job - I try not to mind."
The Extras actress commented in November that giving birth was "amazing" and had given her "a real respect for womankind".
