Cheryl Cole 'to meet Hough's family'

Cheryl Cole is reportedly planning to meet Derek Hough's family as she continues to spend time in America.

The singer will be introduced to Hough's mum Marianne and his stepdad Aaron Nelson while she is in LA, according to the News of the World. Cole's mother Joan is also said to be flying out for the occasion.

A source said: "Cheryl has been having an absolute blast in LA. She and Derek are getting on really well and she's feeling like a completely new woman. She has been beaming and everyone has noticed it. She's confident and bubbly and hasn't been down at all, even though her divorce is so close to being finalised."

A friend of Hough's sister Julianne, whom Cole has already met, said: "Julianne is a huge fan of Cheryl and thinks she is gorgeous. Julianne and Derek are the best of friends and so her opinion really matters to him. She and Cheryl have a lot in common with their singing backgrounds - and Derek is overjoyed about them getting on so well."

Hough's grandfather Don Heaton added: "I know Derek is going out with Cheryl - she is his girlfriend over in England. I heard that she was sick, and Derek helped her. She is pretty and looks a bit like the girl before [Derek's ex-girlfriend Shannon Elizabeth]."

Speaking of rumours about Hough's sexuality, he said: "He is not gay in any way, by any stretch of the imagination. Derek has always presented and dressed himself well - it doesn't mean he is gay. He has worked his butt off to get where he is today."
