Solange Knowles quits Dereon brand

Solange Knowles has reportedly quit as the spokesperson for her family’s Dereon clothing line.

The brand was started by Solange’s sister Beyoncé and mother Tina Knowles in 2004.

The 24-year-old released a statement on her departure: "I initially was involved as the spokesperson, but the clothes just didn’t reflect my personal style and I decided to hand that over."

However, according to Media Takeout, Solange’s abrupt resignation actually represents a rift in the family. It has been alleged that Solange is supporting her father, while Beyoncé is standing by her mother during their parents’ divorce.

Knowles recently admitted that she had a mental breakdown while recording her new album.
