The model, who creates the jam using the damsons from her country house in the Cotswolds, has asked Arcadia Group businessman Sir Philip Green to release the preserves commercially, according to The Sun.
Moss has apparently sent samples of the product, called Kate's Damson Jam, to some of her celebrity friends, including Simon Cowell.
A source said: "Kate bought a load of expensive equipment because she's always been keen on the idea of making jam. She has so much fruit on her land she wanted to put it to good use.
"It started as a hobby, but she's taking it a lot more seriously after glowing feedback from friends and family. She's hoping her plum conserve will be a hit with the public."
The 36-year-old has involved her daughter Lila Grace, 7, in the jam-making process with a view to establishing a family business.
The source added: "It's great for mother-daughter bonding. Kate hopes the jam will give Lila a nice project to take over when she's older."
