Manager: 'Fantasia dehydrated, exhausted'

Fantasia Barrino's manager Brian Dickens has insisted that the singer's recent overdose has not caused any permanent damage.

She was rushed to a North Carolina hospital on Monday night after taking too much of an unknown medication.

Dickens revealed on Tuesday that the incident was caused by the combination of aspirin and a prescription sleep aid and did not deny that the 26-year-old was attempting to commit suicide.

"Her injuries are not life-threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time. [She is] stable. She will be released from the hospital soon," he told US Weekly.

"Fantasia is a fighter and a survivor. This is not the hardest thing Fantasia has endured. Fantasia will be stronger, smarter and better for it. Her work has always inspired her and served as a source of strength."

Barrino was recently accused of filming a sex tape with a married man and causing the break-up of his marriage.
