Ricky Gervais 'makes friends with wolves'

Ricky Gervais has described his recent experience with a pack of wolves as "almost spiritual".

After receiving a "wolf walking" trip as a birthday present from his partner Jane Fallon, the Office creator admitted that he was scared about coming face-to-face with the wild animals.

"Jane got me a 'walking with wolves' day as part of my birthday present. It was amazing. Almost spiritual," he wrote on his official blog.

"It really affected me and I want to visit them again. I was quite scared at first as they are still wild and their bite is three times stronger than a pit bull. They are magnificent though. I highly recommend it."

He went on to say that he became friendly with one of the animals after it came up and licked his face.

"The alpha male came over to me at one point. I froze. He jumped up and put his paws on my shoulders, (yes, he was f**king huge), and started licking my mouth. 'Don't move', they said. 'He likes you. He can smell what you had for lunch'."

It was recently reported that HBO has ordered a second comedy special starring Gervais.
