Police are investigating a video that indicates Paris Hilton was involved in a drink-driving incident.
Hilton’s boyfriend Stavros Niarchos drove a Bentley into a truck as he pulled away from a Hollywood club in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
In the car with him were Hilton, Rod Stewart’s daughter Kimberly and MTV presenter Talan Torriero.
Surrounded by paparazzi, and with his car only slightly damaged, Niarchos immediately drove away.
A video of events later that night, however, shows that the celebrities stopped and talking to police.
It shows Torriero offering to take over driving from Niarchos, saying, "I'm the only sober one, let's just go.??? Police at the scene then allowed the group to drive away.
Police captain for the Hollywood area Michael Moriarty said: "After reviewing the tape, I can see where there could be some concerns about the appropriateness of the officers' actions."
He added: "There will be an investigation into that to determine if they acted appropriately or not."
