Daughter of Johnny Cash angered at film

Kathy Cash, the daughter of deceased country star Johnny Cash, has walked out of a family screening of a film about her father's life.

Kathy said that her mother was wrongly portrayed in I Walk The Line, describing the depiction of Cash's first wife Vivian Liberto Distin as a "nonentity" and "mad little psycho" as "not true."

She added that her mother, who was married to Cash for 13 years and had four children by him, "loved his career and was proud of him until he started taking drugs and stopped coming home."

John Carter Cash, Cash's child from his second married to June Carter Cash, who is the executive producer, admitted that there were problems with the film, saying that he felt "compassionately understanding" towards Kathy Cash.

However, he said, the point of the film was not to show the suffering of the Cash children during their father's fight with drugs and their parents' divorce, but to show his "parents' love affair."

The title of the film comes from a song Cash wrote pledging to remain faithful to his first wife.
