TMZ claims that the former couple, who ended their second engagement at the beginning of the month, settled on a deal that makes Palin the primary carer for 19-month-old Tripp and allows Johnston to visit him two days per week.
The website also says that under the agreement, Johnston will be required to pay an undisclosed sum of child support to his former partner, calculated on his estimated annual earnings of $72,000 (£46,000).
Another caveat to the agreement, which was filed at an Alaskan Superior Court, states that both parties must not "speak badly about the other parent in front of the child... or allow anyone else to speak badly about the other parent or members of their family in front of the child".
Palin has previously accused Johnston of being "obsessed with the limelight" and mocked his campaign to become mayor of his hometown.
