Maura Tierney has admitted that since finishing treatment for cancer, she has made it a "priority" to work with people that she admires.

The actress, who last year discovered a breast tumour, has insisted that she’s glad to make her return to television after dropping out of NBC's Parenthood last year.

The 45-year-old told Life & Style: "It's a blanket statement that my perspective has changed. It's a priority for me now to be able to work with people I really like and trust."

As for her thoughts on her new short haircut, she added: "I'm glad it's there. It's a lot quicker to dry, and it's on my head."

Tierney recently revealed details of her new series The Whole Truth, which premieres on September 22 on ABC.
