The supermodel gave evidence in The Hague last week at the the trial of ex-Liberian President Charles Taylor, who has pleaded not guilty to 11 charges, including the trading of so-called "blood diamonds", used to fund the civil war that raged in Sierra Leone from 1991 to 2002.
Campbell denied accusations that she had knowingly accepted the precious stones during a trip to South Africa in 1997 and commented that she had been forced to attend the trial against her will, a statement that former child soldier Kabba Williams, whose mother was killed during the conflict, has urged her to retract.
"She should be ashamed," he told the Sunday Mirror. "It is more than inconvenient for the thousands wiped out and those tortured, raped or burned to death."
The trial continues.
