BBC News reports that the actor, who plays Carl Gallagher in the award-winning drama, hit an 18-year-old man with his BMW Z4 in Kentish Town, North London in the early hours of Sunday morning. He was apparently on his way to see girlfriend Kaya Scodelario.
After being taken to hospital with head injuries, the victim is now thought to be in a serious but stable condition. However, The Mirror reports that the collision may have left the man blind.
Tittensor, 20, handed himself in to Holborn police station in Central London an hour after the incident, where he was arrested by officers and then breathalysed. Later, he was granted bail.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed: "An 18-year-old man was taken by London Ambulance Service to hospital suffering from head injuries."
He continued: "The male driver did not stop at the scene. He later handed himself into officers at a Central London police station and was arrested in connection with the collision."
