Alex Gerrard "sad" for Abbey Clancy

Alex Gerrard has expressed her sympathy for Abbey Clancy following recent allegations about her fiancé Peter Crouch.

Writing in her OK column, Steven Gerrard's wife said that she was "sad" to read the stories about Crouch.

"It must have been awful, I hope [Abbey's] okay," she said. "I’ve heard that she’s gone to Majorca with her mum - that’s probably the best thing she can do at the moment, to get away and be with her family."

Clancy has reportedly been spotted without her engagement ring and cancelled an appearance on today's edition of This Morning.
