Mariah Carey has decided to make a return to Hollywood, four years after her debut film, Glitter, flopped spectacularly and shockingly.
The critics hated Glitter, as did the fans, and Carey disappeared from the spotlight for a number of years after suffering from a breakdown. To add insult to injury, Carey was also bought out of her $100 million record contract with Virgin Records.
However, Carey yesterday made a triumphant return to Hollywood after her latest album, titled The Emancipation of Mimi, sold six million copies internationally. She told AP Television News that "my real fans have always been here for me...it's a wonderful feeling...God has blessed me with this and I'll always be grateful for what I have."
Carey will this week bring out a special-edition version of the album, containing four additional tracks, which includes new single 'Don't Forget About Us.' Carey has, however, made no firm decisions yet about moving back into acting.
