Heidi Montag's plastic surgeon dies

Heidi Montag's plastic surgeon Dr Frank Ryan has passed away following a car accident.

According to TMZ, Ryan succumbed to major head injuries after his Jeep Wrangler fell over the side of the Pacific Coast Highway on Monday afternoon.

The vehicle landed on a rocky embankment and the 50-year-old doctor was trapped inside. The local fire department and lifeguards tried to save Ryan, but paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Ryan is best known for performing ten cosmetic surgery procedures on Montag in one day. His other celebrity clients included Vince Neil, Gene Simmons, Adrianne Curry and Shauna Sand.

The doctor recently said that Montag looked "absolutely spectacular" as a result of the cosmetic operations she underwent.

Ryan tweeted about a hike minutes before the crash.

He wrote: "After 25 years of driving by, I finally hiked to the top of the giant sand dune on the pch west of Malibu. Much harder than it looks! Whew! (sic)"

His final tweet included a picture of his border collie sitting near the ocean.

The dog was in the car with Ryan at the time of the accident. Law enforcement officials took the dog to a veterinary hospital after finding it in the ocean and seriously injured.
