Rumours initially surfaced early this week that the comedians had begun dating. Friends described the romance as "very new".
"They are dating and it all happened after he and [Mad Men actress] Elisabeth [Moss] split," a source told People.
"They've always been close friends on set and… they started hanging out. It's nothing serious. It's still the early stages."
The insider added that Armisen's split from Moss happened on good terms.
"Both him and Elisabeth have moved on. It was totally amicable and friendly."
