Princess Mary: 'It's lovely to be home'

Princess Mary of Denmark has revealed that she is very happy to be visiting Australia.

The Danish future queen, who is originally from Tasmania but now lives in Denmark with husband Prince Frederick and children Isabella and Christian, is currently spending time with friends and family following the official announcement that she is pregnant with twins.

While out for lunch in Hobart, Princess Mary told The Daily Telegraph: "It's very exciting and lovely to come home to share [the news] with family and friends and catch up with what's going on here."

The chef at Barcelona Bar revealed that she complimented him on his Asian noodle salad, saying: "She seemed to eat most of it and didn't die, so that's a relief. She was really easy to please and - everything on their table - they just wolfed it down.

"I was so damned nervous. She is more beautiful in real life. She walked up to the pass and thanked us all."
