According to The AP, Jean told reporters that the time he spent with Preval revitalised his confidence in Haiti's leader.
"I feel good," said the Fugees star. "I feel that the president that I voted for five years ago is the same person that was sitting in front of me today."
The meeting in Port-Au-Prince generated new discussions about the rapper's own bid for the island nation's highest office, following rumours that he will not be included on the country's list of sanctioned candidates.
Jean asserted that he is now confident that he will be allowed to launch a formal presidential campaign.
The popstar also noted that he is hoping to ''meet with every possible presidential candidate'' before the country's November election.
