TV star halts theatre performance after phone goes off

Richard Griffiths was forced to stop a recent theatre performance after an audience member's phone went off repeatedly.
The TV star was on stage in the penultimate scene of comedy Heroes. When the phone went off, he said: "Could the person whose mobile phone it is please leave? The 750 people here would be fully justified in suing you for ruining their afternoon." The audience then proceeded to applaud.
This is not the first time Griffiths has thrown out an audience member from one of his plays, as he did the same thing during a production of drama The History Boys.
The play itself was given a standing ovation.
