"Hours are numbered" for George Best

George Best is now entering the "final stage" of his battle with ill health, his doctor has confirmed.
The soccer legend was admitted to hospital at the start of October with flu-like symptoms but his condition has steadily deteriorated since.
"The news is not good," Professor Roger Williams told reporters this lunchtime. "I'm afraid Mr Best is coming to the end of the long road of his ill health."
Best suffered internal bleeding overnight Wednesday, affecting the lungs. "There is no return from that situation," said Williams. "it is just not possible to recover from that episode."
The doctor added that the star, who is no longer conscious, "could die at any time over the next 24 hours".
