Alexandra Burke 'has trust issues'

Alexandra Burke has revealed that she has trust issues with men after her first love broke her heart.

The 'Start Without You' singer confessed to Bang Showbiz that her romantic life has continued to suffer following a crushing experience in her teenage years.

"When I was 18 my first boyfriend cheated on me," she revealed. "It was horrible. I have severe trust issues which mean I don't do the dating thing any more.

"I went on a date a few months ago and realised that I can't do a relationship. I'm scared of getting hurt. I don't think I've ever been in love and I don't know what it feels like."

Despite her insecurities, Burke is still holding out hope that she will one day discover her dream man.

"I want someone who I can trust, who makes me smile and who stands on their own two feet," she explained. "I'm not looking for love because when you look you don't find it. I'm sitting back and hoping it finds its way to me."

The last person Burke was romantically linked to was Kelly Brook's ex, rugby star Danny Cipriani, who she was spotted kissing in a club in July.
