Nickelback singer in court over royalties

Chad Kroeger is to sue former Nickelback drummer Ryan Vikedal, according to the Toronto Sun.
Kroeger is apparently attempting to prevent ex-member Vikedal from claiming royalties on the band's work, and has filed a statement with the Supreme Court in British Columbia.
In the statement, Kroeger says that he is the "sole author and maker of the songs" and wants it legally declared that he, along with his production company, own copyright over the entirety of Nickelback's three albums.
Vikedal left the band in January, and Kroeger says that he has been trying to get him to sign registration forms with SOCAN, the Canadian performers society, in order to make sure he does not try and claim on royalties in the future.
