Jackie Chan 'wants kung fu in Olympics'

Jackie Chan has said that he wants kung fu to be included in the Olympic Games.

The action star learned the martial art - also known as wushu - from an early age and believes it would fit in well with the competition's already-included disciplines taekwando and judo, reports the Daily Star.

"I love wushu a lot and I would love to see it included in future Olympic Games," he explained.

"[But the variety of types] makes it difficult for wushu to make a unified impression to international audiences."

Chan added that he continues to practise kung fu as an adult.
