Applegate: 'Parenting style is mixed'

The pregnant actress told People that she will draw on examples from her own mother in an attempt to give her child the best of both worlds.
"I'll probably be a little bit hippie and a little bit Type A," said Applegate. "I'll take from what my mother did, which was way hippie and like, 'Do what you wanna do', and bring some things that I know from watching my friends raise their kids. An amalgamation of sorts."
The Going The Distance star and her husband Martyn LeNoble are not planning on learning the sex of the baby until the birth, which Applegate added has proved difficult for the couple as they try to design a nursery.
"It's gender neutral because we don't know [if it's a boy or girl]," she said. "I'm trying. It's becoming a bigger project than it was supposed to be, unfortunately."
