The Catholic Church in Scotland has confirmed reports that the 'I Dreamed A Dream' star will sing for the pontiff during his official visit to the country next month.
"To be able to sing for the Pope is a great honour and something I've always dreamed of - it's indescribable," said Boyle in a statement.
"I've always wanted to sing for His Holiness and I can't really put into words my happiness that this wish has come true at last."
The 49-year-old will reportedly perform three songs - including 'I Dreamed A Dream' and 'How Great Thou Art' - at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow on September 16, as well as joining a choir for the open-air Mass. She will also sing a "farewell song" as the Pope leaves for London, although details have yet to be revealed.
Boyle's brother previously said that the Scottish singer would "drop everything" to perform for the pontiff if she was given the opportunity.
