It was recently suggested that the Gossip Girl star was seen acting "smitten" with the singer during an outing at Los Angeles' Soho House.
However, the rep confirmed that Trachtenberg and Mayer are only friends and are not involved romantically.
"They've known each other for years," they told the New York Post.
