Peck's star stolen from Walk of Fame

The late Gregory Peck has had his Hollywood Walk of Fame star stolen.
The honorary mayor of Hollywood, Johnny Grant, said that "somebody went out there with a cement saw and carved it out." The theft is thought to have occurred between November 17 and 22.
Peck's star was laid between 1958 and 1959, before the official dedication of the Walk of Fame in 1960. Peck became a Hollywood legend, winning an Oscar for his role as Atticus Finch in the 1962 adaptation of To Kill A Mockingbird. He passed away in 2003, aged 87.
The star is only the fourth to be stolen since the first stars were installed in 1958. Gene Autry, Kirk Douglas and James Stewart were also unlucky.
