Vorderman to hold 50 parties for 50th

Carol Vorderman has revealed that she plans to hold 50 different parties to celebrate her 50th birthday.

The former Countdown star, who is hoping to hold the celebrations throughout the year, said that writing her autobiography inspired her to reconnect with former friends at her birthday events, reports the Daily Mail.

"I thought I’d have 50 parties for 50 years," she said. "Some of them might only be two of us meeting for supper, but having done the book you think, 'Oh I’d really like to see that person or that friend again.'

"Some of them would be big parties, like all the people that used to work on Countdown might be one party. You just lose contact with people because your life gets so busy, particularly if you’ve got children."
