Chris Brown praised in progress hearing

Chris Brown has reportedly been praised by the judge overseeing his probation stemming from his assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

The R&B star was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community labour last year after attacking Rihanna before the Grammy Awards. He was also ordered to undergo domestic violence counselling.

According to The AP, the 21-year-old appeared in court for a progress update hearing with Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg yesterday.

The Judge reportedly told the singer that he is "doing very well" and "doing a great job" on probation, and that she had been given good feedback from his domestic violence counselling classes.

Brown did not speak during the hearing.
