The widower, who was recently cleared of rape charges, pleaded with Brazier to let him speak to Bobby and Freddy, despite Brazier having banned him from contact with the children in 2009.
Tweed told The Sun: "I promised Jade I'd stay in their lives and I know they haven't forgotten me. I'm not pretending to be a saint but I do love those boys.
"I don't think Jeff ever really wanted me in Bobby and Freddy's lives and I can't blame him for that, but I was with them at a really difficult time. I will never, ever forget them. I would give anything just to speak to them on the phone and tell them I love them. I don't want to be their dad because they've already got one."
Tweed cited anxiety over becoming a stepfather again as one of the factors in his recent break-up with Chanelle Hayes.
