Anthony and Lopez to open film studio?

The mayor of a Puerto Rican city has announced that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony intend to open a film studio in his northern coastal town of Fajardo.

According to The AP, Mayor Anibal Melendez told reporters that plans have begun to construct a "state-of-the-art" soundstage in order to turn the city into the "Hollywood of the Caribbean".

Melendez said that Lopez and Anthony hope that the new studio will attract US television shows and international movie productions to film on the island.

The mayor noted that although the project is still in its infancy, the two Latin stars voiced "a lot of enthusiasm" during his recent meeting with them in Miami.

Publicists for the couple declined to comment on the issue.
