Sir Sean Connery has spoken to BBC One Breakfast about his backing for the new James Bond.
Daniel Craig will debut in a new adaptation of Casino Royale, having previously starred in Road To Perdition and thriller Layer Cake. He auditioned alongside more than 200 other actors for the role.
Sir Sean, who is due to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the European Film Academy this weekend, told the show that Craig was a "completely new departure" for the role and a "terrific choice." He has played Bond six times, more than any other actor in the role.
Craig said that he was planning to take it "somewhere...where it's never gone before."
