The Australian television presenter, who moved to the US last year in a bid to launch a successful international TV career, said that she is still "happy" despite her financial problems.
Rochester told The Daily Telegraph: "I don't have any money but I'm happy. I have a few friends who lost everything in the stock market crash recently and they talk about losing everything - but it didn't affect me because I never had anything.
"I didn't have money when I went to bed that night and I didn't have any when I woke up the next day. But I don't need money to be happy."
Rochester revealed that she recently reunited with former agent Max Markson, saying: "Max and I have had a chat and figured it was time to sort it out so he's back on board. It's all fine now."
She also said reports that she was so broke she was living off free sachets of tomato sauce were "not true" and "so absurd".
