Rap moguls cleared of money laundering
Published Monday, Dec 5 2005, 11:56 GMT | By Miriam Zendle
Rap moguls and siblings Christopher and Irving Lorenzo have been acquitted of laundering money for a convicted drug dealer.
The pair, who head up record label The Inc Records, had been accused of helping Kenneth McGriff by laundering up to £577,600 through the label, according to BBC News Online.
The brothers' trial had been watched by hip-hop stars such as Ja Rule and Ashanti. Ja Rule called the case "a war against hip hop."
However, the two were cleared, with defence lawyer Gerald Shargel calling the charges "absolutely pathetic."
