Ronan Keating and wife 'still separated'

Ronan Keating and his wife Yvonne have issued a statement confirming that they remain separated, after months of speculation on the status of their relationship.

In May, the couple announced that they were separating following 12 years of marriage. Rumours circulated that the relationship broke down after Ronan admitted cheating on his partner with a dancer.

The pair later reunited in Australia, as Yvonne joined Ronan during his stint as a judge on the Australian version of The X Factor. Earlier this month, the singer told the Daily Mail that his marriage was "all good".

However, the two have since issued a statement confirming their separation. It said: "On May 20, 2010, Ronan and Yvonne Keating issued the following statement, 'With great sadness Ronan and Yvonne Keating today announce their separation. The separation is amicable and they will continue to work together in order to provide the best for their children. The family ask for privacy at this difficult time'.

"The situation as outlined in that statement remains the same and the couple continue to work together for their children."

The statement also asked for the press not to report on the relationship to protect their three children - Jack, 11, Marie, 9 and Ali, 4 - adding: "The children are now preparing to go back to school. Any inaccurate reporting could be particularly damaging to the children's welfare."
