Jessica Simpson is rumoured to have hired the same high-powered attorney that Jennifer Aniston used to divorce Brad Pitt to handle her split with Nick Lachey.

According to Us Weekly, the Newlyweds star has recruited Robert Kaufman only three weeks after the couple announced their separation.

There has been no official comment by the star, but a close friend told The Evening Echo that the blonde wanted a clean divorce: "Jennifer handled her divorce with Brad like a lady, in a non-sleazy way, and Jessica wants to do the same."

The couple announced their separation after three years of marriage last month.
