Rick Parfitt has thanked fans for their support and get-well wishes after doctors found a growth on his larynx.

The Status Quo guitarist will undergo an operation next week to determine the seriousness of the tumour.

In a statement released to The Mirror, Parfitt vowed, "I will beat this. With such good thoughts from everyone, we will get through this together. I thank everyone for their incredible love."
