The tax office had previously banned the star from travelling until he settled his $34m (£22m) tax debt, but it reversed its decision on Friday following a "cordial and co-operative" meeting with his lawyer Andrew Robinson.
The attorney told The AP that his client remained in disagreement with some of the government's findings and cited that Hogan had yet to be charged with tax evasion.
Robinson said: "While the commissioner and Mr Hogan remain in dispute on more general taxation issues, Mr Hogan continues to protest his innocence and denies any wrongdoing."
The Australian tax office declined to comment on the issue.
Hogan previously stated that he could not afford to pay even 10% of his debt.
