The 31-year-old actor, who was arrested in June after being spotted swerving along a freeway, appeared in a Van Nuys court on Friday and was sentenced to four days in jail, the mandatory minimum for a repeat offence. He was also given four years' probation, fines and an 18-month alcohol education class.
People reports that during the sentencing, Klein told Judge David B. Gelfound: "I apologise for my wrongdoing and I really appreciate that the court gave me the opportunity to prove how seriously I took all of this."
The star's attorney Blair Berk later added: "Chris took immediate responsibility for what he did and has used this experience in such a positive way to get help to confront an addiction to alcohol. He deserves enormous credit for stepping up and getting it done."
Klein recently admitted himself into rehab in an attempt to cure his alcohol addiction. He was previously arrested for drink driving in February 2005.
