Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin are hoping their custody battle is over after a hearing in a Los Angeles court, according to BBC News Online.
The couple, who divorced three years ago, share joint custody of daughter Ireland, 10. Press and public were not allowed at the court hearing, and no details surrounding the case were revealed to the media afterwards.
Basinger's lawyer said: "Kim is respectful of what the judge did. We're hopeful this will be the end of it."
Baldwin did not attend the hearing, but his lawyer said she was "very pleased with the judge's thoroughness. [Baldwin] has a right to parent his daughter. When he comes to court, it's because he feels it's an important issue that needs attention."
The court case has been ongoing since January 2004.
