The Crocodile Dundee actor, who was recently grounded in his native Australia as part of an ongoing investigation by the Australian Taxation Office, said that US tax officials are like "gentlemen" compared to the Australians.
Hogan told AAP: "I have come to this great tax haven, the USA, where the IRS are gentlemen compared to our lot."
He also said that he could not believe he was treated as "guilty until proven innocent" in his home country.
