The country superstar married hockey player boyfriend Mike Fisher at the Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Plantation in Georgia in July.
"Everything is great. Everybody asks, 'How is married life?' and it's pretty much like dating life," she told ETonline.
"You get married and there's a big hoopla and you go on your honeymoon and then you get back to work, which is good because we're both very focused people and we love what we do."
However, she added that while children would be on the agenda in the future, the couple are content to wait before extending their family.
"First it's like, 'When are you getting married?' and then it's, 'When are you having babies?'" she laughed. "Once again, we are very focused people and we love what we do. There will be a time for that and I think we'll know when it gets here but it's not here yet!"
Underwood recently revealed that she was pleasantly "surprised" watching her debut movie performance in the upcoming Soul Surfer, which is scheduled for release next year.
