Film star "sorry" for stabbing girlfriend

The 40-Year-Old Virgin star, who played Steve Carell's co-worker in the comedy film, said that he stabbed 38-year-old Kendra Beebe 20 times only because he thought that she was a mystery attacker.
According to People magazine, Malil told a Californian courtroom: "I'm sorry. I had no idea. I saw the pictures [of her wounds] for the first time; I was stunned.
"When I look at those pictures, I still can't believe the knife I was holding was responsible for all those injuries."
Malil has insisted that he did not intend to hurt Beebe. The trial continues.
