Cross 'never told daughters about cancer'

Marcia Cross has revealed that she has never told her daughters that their father had cancer.

The Desperate Housewives star, whose husband Tom Mahoney battled cancer last year, has insisted that she made the best decision by concealing the fact that her twin daughters' father was gravely ill because it wouldn't have benefited them.

The 48-year-old told People: "There's no point in telling our kids. They were so young and anything to them is normal, so they didn't know things weren't normal. They're enjoying their life. Daddy's fine. It's in the past. He has nothing to say.

"My kids are great, work is great, my husband's really, really fantastic. I'm very blessed. All of my dreams have come true."

Cross recently said that she finds Michael Douglas's positive outlook in the face of cancer to be inspiring.
