The St. Louis-born rapper, who has part ownership of the NBA team Charlotte Bobcats, has joked that he is looking forward to a competitive match between his team and Jay-Z's New Jersey Nets.
Nelly told Radar Online: "I don’t think he wants to! We made the playoffs last year. I don’t know what the Nets did. I don’t think he want none of that right now!"
The 35-year-old, who lost his sister and two grandfathers to cancer, also explained how he has coped with the disease devastating his family, adding: "This cancer thing. I don’t know what it is, but it’s on me. You try and do the best you can. You don’t want anyone feeling sorry for you and things of that nature. It’s not my style."
Nelly recently insisted that he and Ashanti have not reunited as a couple.
